The Book of  the DeadImage result for maat goddess

Egyptian Goddesses Maat represents the ethical and moral principle that every Egyptian citizen was expected to follow throughout their daily lives. They were expected to act with honor and truth in matters that involve family, the community, the nation, the environment, and the gods that embraced diverse peoples with conflicting interests

If you can’t kill the survival instinct in a Father or Mother then you kill abort the children off and civilizations fall.  Then the control reverts back to the Gala Priests .   Morality always comes from the gods of religions.  Make a moral issue and the children will follow.

Weighing of the Heart

Weighing of the Heart

The ancient Egyptians considered the heart to be the centre of thought, memory and emotion. It was thus associated with interlect and personality and was considered the most important organ in the body. It was deemed to be essential for rebirth into the Afterlife. Unlike the other internal organs, it was never removed and embalmed separately, because its presence in the body was crucial.

If the deceased was found to have done wrong and the heart weighed down the scales, he or she was not though to enter a place of tourment like hell, but to cease to exist at all. This idea would have terrified the ancient Egyptians. However, for those who could afford to include Chapter 125 of the Book of the Dead in their tombs, it was almost guaranteed that they would pass successfully into the Afterlife. This is because the Egyptians believed in the magical qualities of the actual writings and illustrations in funerary texts. By depicting the heart balancing in the scales against the feather of Maat they ensured that would be the favourable outcome. The entire ceremony was, after all, symbolic.

I am reminded of an ancient saying in which a man looked down at me and told me to pick up my mat and leave.  I took him at his word and journeyed back into the wilderness were my people came from beyond the city of Ur.

Abraham was a Kassites for which it appears, to have been located in the Zargos Mountains in Lorestan in what is now modern Iran, although, like the Elamites, Gutians and Manneans, they were unrelated to the later Indo-European/Iranic Medes and Persians who came to dominate the region a thousand years later.

Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;

Next blog we will look at the word Mamre and explore the depths of its meaning in the ancient lands of my people.

All individuals have a finite particle of Life within them.  Within that containment of Life there exists 3 elements that support your life.

  1. Rule of Law-  “What thought governs you?'”
  2. Economics-  ” Valuation of Life”, does it give me support.
  3. Societal-  An aggregate community of thoughts that provides a safe harbor.

  1. Maat and Thoth were married to each other. I remember drawing a card each from my gods and goddesses decks. And i earlier this year i pulled thoth from the gods deck and maat from the goddesses one. So that synchronicity blew my mind. 😀

      1. Well it was just an interesting coincidence drawing those cards together. Or is it the concept of maat and thoth as a married couple? If we consider them as actual people who embodied these characteristics, or as simple metaphors for “justice” and “thought”.
