Sumerian Man’s Creation 3000 BC

Enki as the Creator of Man

Enki seated on a throne , wearing a horned headdress with a flowing stream full of fish, 2250 BC

Enki/Ea – mischievous god of wisdom , magic and incantations who resides in the ocean under the earth.

The ancient Sumerians have their own opinions loosely fitting about ideas depicting the creation of man. It is conceived their ideas came from different regions in Mesopotamia and Ancient Near East mythological narratives in real time. There are similarities in other creation accounts of the time, including the accounts of the Biblical Genesis.

The Sumerian accounts of creation is a result of sexual intercourse between of the male and female divine entities.

There are some in the vast world of Christendom will tell you that male and female created had sexual intercourse in the 7 days of creation. The parallels are striking.

In the oldest Hebrew Bible codex in existence the,”Leningrad Codex”, 1008 BC, the first line starts out as ,”in the beginning he created”. Noticed it is not named the oldest Jewish Bible.   As I have stated before there is a difference between a Hebrew and a Jew.   Semitic/Hebrews did not believe in religion or magic but science to explain the the nature of Creation.   Jewish , Christianity and Islam in my neck of the woods believe in magic to cover their human frailties.

In the King James, 1590 AD, the first line starts out, “in the beginning god created”. By comparison the God Enki and the God in King James are one and the same. Both are mythological narratives in real time. The Hebrew codex is devoid of mythological narratives but are based on human observations in real time.

All narratives of Creation always has a mother goddess. In the Sumerian Dynastic culture her name was* Ninmah.   She was the consort of  Ea who were the principal creators of mankind.

* Ninmah was also known as Ninhursag or Damgalnuna the mother goddesses of the mountains one of the seven great deities of  the Dynastic period.   Principally a fertility goddess temple hymns identified her as the a great lady of the heavens.    She stands on the mountains and nourish the kings of Sumer with her milk.  Her hair is depicted in an , Omega shape wearing a horned head dress and tiered skirt

Her symbol, resembling the Greek letter omega Ω, has been depicted in art from approximately 3000 BC, although more generally from the early second millennium BC.  The omega symbol is associated with the Egyptian cow goddess Hathor, and may represent a stylized womb. The symbol appears on very early imagery from Ancient Egypt. Hathor is at times depicted on a mountain, so it may be that the two goddesses are connected.

So to tell me that your god is the Alpha and the Omega,  you might be worshiping a cow.  A cow has no soul and is easily led around by the nose with a hook.

Now that we have established the Parents, Enki and the consort Nimmah they consummate their union and bore a daughter, Ninsar ( Lady Greenery”).

From Enki, Ninsar bore a daughter Nikkura ( Lady of the Pasture)

Nikkura in turn bore Enki a daughter named Uttu.

Enki then pursued Uttu, who was upset because he didn’t care for her.

Uttu, on her ancestress Ninhursag’s advice buried Enki’s seed in the earth, whereupon eight plants (the very first) sprung up.

Enki, seeing the plants, ate them, and became ill in eight organs of his body.

Ninhursag cured him, taking the plants into her body and giving birth to eight deities: Abu, Nintulla (Nintul), Ninsutu, Ninkasi, Nanshe, Azimua, Ninti, and Enshag (Enshagag).

In the text Creator of the Hoe‘, she completed the birth of mankind after the heads had been uncovered by Enki’s hoe.

Creator of the Hoe is a song about the Hoe which I will post as an addendum to Creation of Man.

In creation texts, Ninmah (another name for Ninhursag) acts as a midwife whilst the mother goddess Nammu makes different kinds of human individuals from lumps of clay at a feast given by Enki to celebrate the creation of humankind.

So in the Sumerian texts of mans creation.  You have all the intrigue of  a soap opera.  Father and Mother consummate a birth of a daughter then the Father (authority figure) has sex with  daughter.  The daughter refutes the advances of the Father.   Then the daughter gets mad poisons the Father and the Mother turns her back and births more deities.  Thats payback more mouths to feed humm……the  Alpha and the Omega of Creation.

That is how families of religions and magic operate around the world.   Opinions fighting each other murder, mayhem, incest, looting of the young mind.  When opinion’s  become gods and goddesses there always be a fly in the ointment.

I was diagnosed with Stage I cancer late this afternoon.  So I have a long haul ahead of me of cancer treatments.  A voice asked me what I thought;  I answered;

“I am grateful for the life I have lived and grateful for the life I have left”

I am a combat soldier of old,  I never show weakness, I never falter in the face of adversity.  Failure is not an option for me never has been.  I will die as a rightful King when the time comes.
