imagesProsperity theology is the belief that donations to the church will increase your material wealth. Really ?  Everytime I think I have nothing else to write about our Father brings something to mind.

I was watching the TV this morning an a well know pastor with a mega-church was giving a sermon. The message was on prosperity theology.  He quoted Deuteronomy 1:11, ” The Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!” Accordingly to this pastor your Father in heaven had something called a Sky Vault. That if you were faithfull the Father would open the doors and you would receive all kinds of financial  blessings.  The end result being you would gain material wealth . Really ? If that were true then somewhere between 1 billion or so christians would be rich world wide. Go down to South America  and Africa and other places whats the problem.

The problem with this premise is that if one was to look at that verse and the verses above it and below. You would realize that what that verse is talking about refers to populating the land that the Lord had promised to to Moses and the children of Israel (Deut.1:3). To populate the land with their divine right because they were like minded in their belief in the Lord their God.

Proverbs 16: 16 ” How much better is to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver !”.  This verse is indicating that wisdom is worth more than gold or silver.  There are other verses in the Proverbs that states the same precept.  Once you take out the concept of the verse you might as well throw out the entire Bible as he did in Deut.1:11.

It is the responsibility of the individual to read the Bible , understand the precepts that are outlined and to raise your hand and ask questions.  To be chosen (Prov.16: 16) means that you are predestined which is another topic to be discussed if the Father moves my spirit.

These are things to think about over the weekend.  Spend time talking with your Father and ask Him questions raise your hand in the Throne room.  Father loves to talk to His children.  Have a great weekend. See ya,ll Monday. Happy New Year.

Footnote: I only read the Geneva Bible 1599 and the King James version of the Bible. If you read a watered down version of the Bible then you stand to get a different meaning of the Word which can be a half truth. In the pastors case above it was a lie what he was telling the folks.
