Via Dolorosa what an interesting term. What does it mean? It is Latin for: “Way of Grief, ” Way of Suffering” or “Painful Way”.  The word is also feminine gender it points to the bride of Christ the women.  We also know this is the path that Christ ( carrying His Cross) walked to His crucification carrying the sins of mankind.  How does the Via Dolorosa apply to you as a believer?  We all walk the same path.

The age of responsibility from the Old Testament is acknowledged to be around 12 years old male or female.  This is generally when we as children open our eyes to the world around use trying to make sense of things.  The problem becomes that satan also knows this truth.  It is at this point that children are vulnerable at the hands of satan’s followers the fingers of sexual immorality.

We all grow up in Sodom and Gomorrah which just an image of any town, city anywhere in the world. The strangers come around wanting sex from the daughters and sons of the Lord.  Satan goes after the daughters for they are the brides of Christ the Church.  Sexual immorality steals the identity of the Brides (women) and cuts their soul to the bone.  Nobody hears their cries in the darkness.  I know this to be true because my identity was stolen at a young age.  Like Pontius Pilate my spirit convicted me of guilt, shame and spun me into depression which exists till today.  I did not find solace or healing at the temples in the city but in searching for the Truth of Christ.

So I picked up my Cross weighed down by violations of my sexuality and walked down the the Via Dolorosa for many years.  Looking for the right avenue that would bring me to Christ.  Some of us leave Sodom and Gomorrah and a lot never leave because the wounds and bloodletting of their spirit are very deep.  However if you look for Christ your Father will send angels of truth to guide you to Jerusalem .  There you will be able to crucify the darkness that torments your spirit and place your Cross next to Christ.

The Via Dolorosa is a long walk fraught with a lot of perils along the way.  Just like in the story the crowds will laugh and jeer at your pain.   Somewhere in your journey someone will come out of the crowd and help you carry your burden and tell you the Truth of the redemptive power of Christ. The bloodletting from your heart will wash away into the darkness where it came from. Your nakedness will be restored without blemish like in the Garden before man sinned.  Righteousness will clothe you instead of the filthy rags of men.  Can we have an Amen !

As it is written in Heb. 13:2.. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares…… Amen.
